IMAGINE

You are living your traditional ways on your Land.

A strange people come to your land.

They drive you away from your land.

They injure and kill many of your people.

They steal your resources.

They herd you and put you on reserves.

They fence you in.

They steal your children.

THE EFFECT IS "NOW"

IMAGINE

Your children that survive, being cut off from their natural traditional ways of Life -

finding food, kinship relationships, bartering, ceremony, rituals, traditional learning, creative arts, cultural growth

Their children cut off from these...

and so on ........

TRANS-GENERATIONAL TRAUMA  means feeling -

Lost                  Angry

Alone                Resentful

Isolated            Bitter

Confused

THE CYCLE:

annoyed to upset to angry to bitter to Hateful

STOP THE CYCLE

THE TIME IS "NOW"

IF NOT YOU, WHO ?

TRANS-GENERATIONAL TRAUMA IS REAL

IMAGINE

The first Nations People ( Australia's indigenous people )

  • living where they want to live
  • having Services they need provided by the Government
  • having meaningful employment opportunities where they live
  • having the support they need
  • expressing their culture & arts

LIVING IN DIGNITY

RESTORE ABORIGINAL DIGNITY

REVIVE ABORIGINAL CULTURE

RELEASE THE "SHADOWS" OF IGNORANCE & APATHY

THE TIME IS ALWAYS "NOW"

IF NOT YOU, WHO ??

Use your imagination - what if your grandparents or those of people you know were incarcerated or put on reserves just because of the colour of their skin?

What if you knew people from the Stolen Generation and if in-sensitive people directly un-affected by it, say "GET OVER IT" ??

They can't get over it until the playing field is level, and the majority of white people in Australia WRONGLY think that ALL First Nations People are offered the exact same respect and opportunities that white people are.

If YOU reading this cannot do anything at all, to make up for the past atrocities against the First Nations People, then how come you ARE able to help make amends for the undesirable things that have happened to your race?   You probably help others of your own race who are feeling the effects of the past.

How about meeting & talking to indigenous people, and widely reading & researching the issues from all different sources??

When Aboriginal people boycott celebrations, we are told to move on

In 2014 veteran journalist John Pilger released his new film Utopia in Australia. What he uncovers is an ignored truth. Despite the magnificent wealth of this country, its First Peoples have inherited a legacy of disadvantage that has compounded since the very first days of invasion. It’s compounded by government neglect and apathy, by watered down promises replacing land rights with “reconciliation” and the failure to recognise the ability of Aboriginal people to control their own lives, to grant them true self-determination.

Australia is locking up Aboriginal people at horrific rates, and yet still cutting funding to Aboriginal legal aid services. It lets its media off for demonising Aboriginal people, and even gives them a Logie for it. It shamefully allows the 10-year extension of one of the most racist policies in Australia’s history – the Northern Territory intervention – and claims its for "their" own good.

This shameful history is laid bare in Utopia, but the film also showcases the strength and resilience of Aboriginal people.

Since 1972 there has been only token self-determination for the First Nations people, so anyone who offensively and wrongly says that "you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink" should get their facts right, plus this saying applies to themselves, meaning why don't YOU if this is what you think, do your research (or "drink" what's there right in front of you) and get your FACTS RIGHT.

Wear this Badge as a conversation starter.  When someone asks you “Hey, what’s that about?” tell them “It shows that I am interested in and respect Aboriginal culture.  There’s a website at thedreaming, dot, bravesites, dot com that you might like to look at.”

These Badges are a large 5.7 cm diameter with bright colours and an eye-catching message. They have magnet fasteners, so no safety pin which may ruin your clothes.

As at 29 April 2016 I will post out up to 3 badges free to anyone living in Australia who would use a badge - to help get the Word out.  Email your name, postal address & how many Badges you would like to:  oneearthtoday@gmail.com

Indigenous Republic of Australia Citizenship Test

TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE

"Indigenous Australia is fast moving towards an Independent republic and we would like to create a citizenship test (just like the current govt’s citizenship test) to see if people have knowledge, and respect in order to have a true connection to our land. This Quiz was put together by the team at Blackfulla Revolution: www.facebook.com/ourcountryourchoice .

This test will also give you an idea of how much you really know about the land you call (or would like to call) home.
